Niger Seeds, also called Nyjer or thistle seed, are tiny black seeds with a high oil and protein content. They are a favourite of goldfinches, siskins, redpolls, canaries and other finches, and are often added to canary and finch mixes or fed on their own from a special fine-mesh feeder to reduce waste.

Feeding tips: Feed in small amounts as part of a seed mix, or in a niger/thistle feeder with small holes. Provide fresh greens, grit and clean drinking water at all times. Store in a cool, dry place in a sealed container to keep the seeds fresh and prevent the oils from going rancid.
